A long history of public projects
Lok N Logs has been helping to restore forts, parks, and many other public projects for almost 50 years now. We take pride in creating custom solutions for these types of projects. If you have a project that needs restoration contact our team to day.
Here are a few projects that we helped restore:
Fort Stanwix Restoration – Rome, NY
Fort Stanwix was a colonial fort whose construction commenced on August 26, 1758, at the location of present-day Rome, NY. The fort was not completed until about 1762.
This star fort was built to guard a portage known as the Oneida Carrying Place during the French and Indian War.
It was restored with the help of 55 loads of logs from Lok-N-Logs in 1975.
Fort Wayne Restoration – Fort Wayne, Indiana
This fort was originally constructed in 1815. The original complex was the most sophisticated all-wooden fort ever built in North America. It was designed to be easily defended against attack by a garrison of only 50-75 men.
This fort was restored in 1976. Lok-N-Logs provided materials for the 30 loads of logs to restore the structures.
Fort King
Fort King was originally built in 1827 and was a typical U.S. Army frontier fort and a noteworthy symbol of the longest and costliest war America had with its native people – the Seminole War. Fort King is a narrative that speaks of a complicated history as relates to the occupation of the State of Florida and beyond. It is the story of a young country struggling to thrive and of native inhabitants trying to survive.
Lok-N-Logs President Jim Webb worked with the Ocala advisory board for the Fort King National Landmark Park to recreate the original 1827 fort design. The Fort reconstruction plans began in 2016 and it was completed in 2017.
